Each school year, the Magnolia Parkway Chamber of Commerce kicks off their “Pedaling For Success” program. The Magnolia Parkway Chamber is known primarily for promoting member businesses and encouraging economic development, but the Chamber also strives to give back to the community it serves. “Pedaling For Success” is a program that rewards elementary students across all eight Magnolia ISD Campuses with the chance to win a new bicycle.
To qualify, the students must achieve perfect attendance throughout the entire school year. One boy and one girl were selected from each school at their final week assembly.
“We were happy to partner with our sponsor Target this year and enhance the program to include a special bike presentation at their location. In addition to donating the bicycles, Target also donated helmets and stuffed Target “Bullseye” dogs for each of the kids!” said Kelly Hamann, Chamber President. The Bike Presentation was held on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at the Target Westwood Village in Magnolia. The sixteen lucky children and their families were treated to cotton candy, snow cones and face painting at the event.
“It was great working with Jonathon Young and Stephanie Jackson from Target and Denise Meyers with Magnolia Independent School District. The big reward was seeing the happy faces on the kiddos as they saw their new bike for the first time, and hearing younger siblings’ comment they were going to win a bike next year!” Hamann said.
