Networking Breakfast, Tuesday, September 13, 2016 – Quarterly Awards

Magnolia Parkway Chamber of Commerce was proud to include the presentation of quarterly awards at its monthly networking breakfast on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Eden Café. Lieutenant Colby Anderson and Firefighters Chance Lane and Zachary Simmons of Montgomery County Emergency Service District #3 E-34 were recognized for their heroic life-saving efforts. Captain Casey Turner introduced the recipients of the award and reconstructed the events on how they saved the life of a child in the Montgomery area. On June 10th, these men were on duty when they received a call about Amelia Scotto Diluzio, a 4-year-old who was choking. Within 4 minutes, E-34 arrived on the scene and determined Amelia had a complete airway obstruction. After several attempts, E-34 was able to partially move the foreign body that was blocking Amelia’s airway and she was able to breathe on her own. Amelia was transported to St. Lukes The Woodlands Hospital for further treatment. While en route to the hospital, the obstruction in Amelia’s airway was completely removed. At the end of the presentation, Captain Casey Turner introduced Amelia and thanked E-34 for their service to the community. MCESD3 President Greg Holcombe, Chief Leonard Mikeska, Business Manager Mary Pope and family were also in attendance.

The award was presented by Dylan Richey of Triple J Firearms, the 2016 Sponsor for this award. Triple J Firearms is located at 6911 FM 1488 Suite E, Magnolia.

The networking breakfast takes place on the second Tuesday of each month. Members and guests are both welcome to attend the event. Members have the opportunity to stand up and give a 30 second commercial about their business.
